Best food and a very friendly staff
You get your money worth and the service is great, really nice establishment.
Let's be honest, the food is NOT 4-star quality. However, it IS very good, usually very fresh and all you want. The catfish is top notch. Mack's has been around since 1957 and my parents brought me here for the first time around that year. It's a very nostalgic experience for me.
Seafood is good but not a big selection of meats. Sides are not great and desserts are cakes from a box and average. $22.?? without drinks. Crab legs are extra. Unless you eat a LOT it's not really worth the cost.
My family and I eat here semi-regularly. The buffet is okay as long as you like fried food. However, the issue we had tonight was the staff. At least I'm assuming they worked there as they were all huddled around the register area the whole time. They definitely weren't doing much working though. They were all giggling and talking so loudly that they drew the attention of most of the customers. One young woman called the kitchen staff "stupid" so loudly that the entire restaurant probably heard. I just don't appreciate that we paid over $100 for the four of us to eat at a buffet and listen to teenagers behave like rude children.
