The exit off the side of the building worked fine with our room key Wednesday night and part of Thursday morning. However, something happened and the door would no longer open using the room card. We were locked out in FREEZING RAIN! Thank goodness the front door wasn't too far away.
I don’t know how this place gets some of these great reviews! I had a terrible experience. First of all my room key looked like it should’ve been replaced years ago!! My room was gross, there were stains in the carpet & when I pulled back the covers to check the beds my sheets had a deep brown/yellow stain that made me feel like they hadn’t been properly washed & the shower still had hair in it from the last person who used it. Called to speak to the manger about the issue and he tried to assure me the issue would be handled yet hours went by and I never saw anyone. Went down to the bar looking for a strong drink and was served by the shittiest bartender probably in Hattiesburg, very bad attitude. I can say with certainty that I will NEVER be back! They need to get a new manager that actually wants to do his job and not sit on his fat ass.
The location itself is a little sketchy in my opinion. There are several liquor stores just across the street and a gas station. Nothing to look at really. The parking is TERRIBLE. There just isn't enough space for adequate parking. This seems to be a busy spot for those traveling for business or in town for business. The downstairs lobby/dining/bar area was pretty busy for a Wednesday evening as well as Thursday morning. The staff was very courteous and helpful - even the cleaning staff greeted us in the morning with a smile and kind word.
Good price and location. Rooms were OK. Great service though, after my reservation had been misteriously cancelled, the front desk lady was patient working to get me a room even though they were full.
The luggage carriers are pretty small at this location. We didn't have a lot of luggage but for other trips we've been on this wouldn't have been large enough. It was a short, brief stay but from what I was able to see it was a nice place to stay for a night. I'm not sure I'd want to stay here for an extended period of time though.
I had a great visit to this hotel. Room was clean and well maintained. Hotel staff was extremely friendly. I enjoyed a very quiet stay. Breakfast was as I expected which is a good thing. I will certainly stay here again in the future.
FYI: Starbucks isn't far away!
We stayed here last week overnight as a halfway point on a trip. We had a small suite with a couch, desk, tv, coffee table, small fridge (works like a freezer - seriously, frozen bottled drinks by morning), a Keurig coffee maker (thank you) and microwave. Our room was right beside the elevators and we didn't hear a sound all night. The rooms and bathroom were clean. Very clean! Plenty of towels and washcloths.
This is the only place we will stay when we are on the Mississippi Gulf Coast!! Always extremely clean and the entire staff is so accommodating. We very highly recommend it!
