Noel R. Mann, Ph.D., Professor of Chemistry and Physical Sciences

I've spent 4 years as a student at William Carey. My educational experience has far exceeded my expectations. The class sizes are small and personable. The professors all operate under an open-door policy. The university is growing quickly and is always looking into updating their facilities and classes to offer education that is relevant to an ever-changing world. This place is great!

5. I've meet so many people and know most of the campus by name because of the homey feeling of the campus.

I went to this college for one trimester and I was trying to get my prerequisites for an architectural degree. This is not the place for anything to do with engineering or architecture. I hate to say it but the teachers here are either new and inexperienced or retired teachers. This is a private college so the pay is low therefore you can understand why the employees are not the best of the best. I recommend this place for foreign exchange students and nursing students only. They have devoted alot effort and money to accommodating these program. This is christian college so if you are anything other than that I would keep it myself.

2. Though we are a Christian school, we have many other religions that attend because we accept everyone so no need to keep to yourself.

I would highly recommend this University. I transfered from out of state specifically to attend WCU. It was really nice that I didn't have to pay out of state tuition. I found WCU to be the most affordable of schools I was touring. They also offer multiple scholarships for students, many of which I received and was able to graduate debt free. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Intercultural Studies and my husband is currently a Cross Cultural Business Management major. I left feeling very prepared for my field of study. We both have great relationships with our professors and administration. They have worked with us on a lot of things and truly pray and care for us. We have learned more than academics from William Carey University and are incredibly grateful for our time here.

4. We are mostly known for our amazing nursing program, but we offer almost everything you need to get you your degree. I'm an education major and I love my teaches' ways.

3. We are a school of many other nationalisties, so finding someone who suits your fancy won't be a problem.

1. WCU is not a cheap university but they do provide many scholarships.

I am a first year employee at William Carey University after having retired from the military and also from Gulf Coast Community College. I have really enjoyed teaching here because the environment is similar to the community college where you at least recognize faces that you see from time to time. I have been extremely impressed by the technology that the school uses. It is way ahead of the community college and even the local university where I teach in the summers. The staff is extremely knowledgable and helpful and willing to go the extra mile to meet your needs. As compared to other schools, it is much easier to implement changes in text books, or to implement something new, or to just place an order for supplies than anywhere I have been. After 40+ years teaching I can honestly say that William Carey University is the best place I have ever worked. Too bad I am so late discovering this gem. The only negative that I have experienced is getting accustomed to the 10-week trimester system after having been on a semester system in my previous work experience. However, this is good for the student because you are only taking 2-3 courses at a time rather than 4-5 typical of the semester system. The pace is fast but if you are in a course that you do not particularly like at least the pain will not last 17 weeks, only 10! You owe it to yourself to at least consider attending this institution. You will be pleasantly surprised.
