Went in a few months ago and I've just now gotten calm enough to post a review. This was the worst experience I've ever had as a customer anywhere. After being followed around the entire store, and being told to leave our purses up at the front - I was with my mom and a friend - the lady from the front followed us around the ENTIRE store, judgingly watching us. I saw an item my aunt (who was not there) usually buys so I decided to send her a picture to see if she would like me to purchase it for her. Big mistake. The lady who was still following us, watching our every move, bolted up to me and admonishingly screamed "Why are you taking pictures of MY things??" She went on with about 3 more minutes of public humiliation as I stood in the middle of the store while other customers passed by, probably assuming I'd just committed some kind of terrible crime by the way she was berating me in the middle of the room as if I were a small child. Needless to say, I certainly did not buy the item I was trying to send to my aunt. There was, however, a picture frame that my mother wanted (before the previous happened). When we asked a price, they had no clue. They just made one up. "Well, ya know, it's a pretty frame and it's really nice soooo probably about $125." That was their answer. Please don't waste your time here. There are many other places in this area to get good deals on great items and not be treated like a criminal. This was THE worst shopping experience I've ever had.
So we saw painting marked 20.00 when we went to pay the lady at the register said it was an error. The painting was 80.00 . WTF! She would not sell saying it was hers and there had been an error. This place is the worst. Nasty, Stinks and pricey.
Terrible service. The lady at the front of the store was very rude. Everything was EXTREMELY overpriced. I will never shop there again.
I miss the family that used to own that store before Katrina. If you were having a bad day you could walk in and immediately you would smile there was such a cheerful atmosphere, and the prices were just right. I'm so sorry to anyone who has had a bad experience believe me it was never like that before. I hope one day the granddaughter will buy it back and change things back to the old ways.
Good selection of Antiques. They prefer no airconditioner, only fans. It is very old store and we'll stocked.
