i have a 2009 chevrolet tahoe and my transmission quit pulling and i was stuck on side of the road and i called aamco transmissions and they towed me for free because i let them fix my transmission . it cost 2289 and i got a life time warranty which is good for as long as i keep the tahoe. they fixed it in one day for me because that was my only vehicle and a single mom with 2 kids. i just love my local aamco.
Will lambert was great and he let me borrow a car for a day. AAmco save me that day.
Not my vehicle. But they fixed a transmission on a White 2003 Honda Odyssey around May of 2014. For around 3 grand, I expected more quality checks to be done. Transmission is fixed, and shifts okay, but replaced motor mounts with low quality aftermarket mounts, (probably worse quality than oem 11 year old mounts) and forgot to mount a screw on the transmission. Broken clips, missing clips, unclipped clips, bent transmission oil dipstick. and the cruise control cable is squashed under the air box, not on top, where it belongs.. Windshield washer clip to hood never clipped back on , neither were the battery cable clips under the air box.. battery cable terminals were slanted when installed back onto the car.. with the battery greasy and dirty. sprayed the door with what appears to be degreaser and had it all over the windows. Not how the car was left. yep.. total car care alright..
Will try to screw you do not go. Cheaper at dealer.
Why am I anal about the small details? because Transmissions have HUNDREDS of small parts together and attention to detail is key. If they cant put plastic clips on the car without breaking it, I wonder what they did IN the transmission.
Airways all for Will! Not only is he the owner of the mechanic shop and the car lot but he's an amazingly fair guy who is just down to earth and honest! I hate car salesmen but this guy is a must visit!
(edit) - also, the steering wheel on the van came back angled 5 degrees to the left when driving straight. Very annoying on a 4 spoke steering wheel. Honda would of installed a rebuilt/new transmission for less than a grand more.. maybe that would of been the better route.
