I called these people to ask for a duplicate W-2 for my daughter who worked for McDonald's. They did mail the original W-2 on time, however, my teenage daughter misplaced it. So, when I called, the only thing they would do for me is mail another one, once I sent a self-addressed stamped envelope. I do not mind at all following policy for the duplicate, however with tax day fast approaching I asked for the amounts so that I could file the taxes for my daughter. The lady was unwilling to help me any further than mailing the duplicate W-2. She did not care that there is a huge possibility that the W-2 might not make it in time. She said that she was too busy and she had 50 returns on her desk. I asked if there would be a better time for me to call and she flat out said that she would quickly return the W-2 once she received my self addressed stamped envelope. In other words, NO! I realize that I should have called sooner, but since the number to the McDonalds local office is incorrect in the phone book and it took quite a while to get that information from Corporate office, what was I to do? I then called back to speak to an office manager, which I was told there was none. The man that answered was rude, a smart-aleck, unprofessional and completely unhelpful. He basically called me an idiot in so many words or less...(which I can assure you I am NO idiot), and that it's my own fault that they couldn't help me other than mailing a W-2. I am very upset by my experience and I would encourage you to reconsider your choice in an accounting firm. If they can't even help a person with a small issue such as a duplicate W-2, how do you think they will handle the rest of your accounting needs? I have never been treated so rudely by a "professional" firm before and I will not stand by and sit quietly about their discourteous service. No one should be treated this way by any person serving the public's needs. People with this sort of attitude should work in career areas where they have no dealings with the public.....maybe they should try working in a lab where they have little to no interaction with others.
I did not feel there was a lot of attention given to my return.
